The Main Event: Mars Stations Direct on the 24th

I probably shouldn’t say this, but this is the only astrological event I care about this month. There are plenty of other things going on, but boy did this retrograde kick my ass more than usual. I love to review, but I am more than ready for this one to end.

For context for my fellow-astrologers, Mars rules my 10th and 5th houses, and the retrograde moved through my 2nd and 1st, which are home to my natal Mars, Venus, Chiron and Sun.

I spent more time that I’d like to admit thinking I could hack the system and get things done. The inspiration would hit, convincing me I had to act on it NOW - and then I would either burn out during the creation process or what I created would be an absolute flop. I even recorded 2 hours worth of content with a secret collaborator and LOST THE FUCKING RECORDING. And I can’t think of anything I loathe more than having to re-do work.

Needless to say, the past couple months have been a merciless masterclass teaching me where I have been taking action out of alignment.

Thank god for a new workout routine that has allowed me to channel all that pent-up frustration (which is an activity I highly recommend for coping with this retrograde). I did get some things done, though - I hosted a really fabulous workshop with Michelle Kooi, reconnected with old friends I hadn’t spoken to in months, booked some wonderful clients for 1x1 sessions, revamped the website and made progress on some exciting collaborations already in the works. The key really was not starting anything new—which I logically knew, but sometimes my ego just does not want to listen.

This confession is giving some really “do as I say, not as I do” vibes—please don’t judge me. We’re all a work in progress.

I’m sharing it with the intention of helping you feel less alone if you’ve felt stuck, frustrated, or uninspired since December or even as early as October 2024. It’s been a time of forced stillness, which does not come naturally to many of us. Confronting old patterns is not necessarily comfortable, but I hope it’s helped you recognize and shed the distractions that no longer serve you.

Mars doesn’t station direct until the end of the month, so we still have a few weeks of working in this energy—and when it does station direct, it’s still not time to rush ahead into action (even though we will want to). There’s a post-retrograde shadow that we’ll be under until May, so the key will be in allowing yourself to slowwwwwly get back up to full speed. Think of it like upshifting a care: build momentum gradually and let each step feel solid before accelerating. Take your time to reflect on what motivates you, and ensure your actions are fully in alignment with where you want to go—especially if that vision has changed since last quarter.

New and Full Moons

February 12th: Full Moon in Leo

A Full Moon in Leo is a cosmic spotlight that will illuminate themes of self-expression, creativity and leadership. Leo is ruled by the sun, and encourages us to step into our personal power and share our unique brilliance with the world. This full moon will highlight the balance between pursuing personal recognition and contributing to the collective, reminding us of our ability to inspire others through radical authenticity. This is a time to embrace your inner performer and showcase your brand’s (personal or business) unique personality. Maybe you launch a bold marketing campaign, step onto a stage or publicly celebrate a major milestone—however you choose to do it, this is a time to shine unapologetically.

However, be aware of acting on overindulgence or an inflated ego and make sure that your actions align with what your heart really wants and genuinely serves or uplifts your audience in some way. You don’t have to dim your light to let others shine, but you don’t have to dim theirs to stand out, either. This moon is here to remind you that your light is brightest when you share it with others and like fire, it spreads.

The Twist: Uranus will be at a square with this full moon, injecting an element of unpredictability or tension and will urge us to break free from outdated patterns in order to embrace bold, authentic self-expression. While Leo invites celebration and creative leadership, Uranus stirs the pot with sudden shifts and innovative sparks, challenging us to adjust course and adapt. This energy may feel disruptive, but it also holds potential for breakthroughs that align us more closely with our truth if we can learn to think outside the box. Be open to unexpected opportunities and prepare to be flexible—even if it feels uncomfortable now, it could pave the way for future growth.

February 27th: New Moon in Pisces

The new Moon in Pisces is a time to dream, so use it to set intensions that align with your greater vision for yourself and the world. Pisces dissolves boundaries and encourages you to think beyond the confines of logic, and with the North Node of future destiny recently moving here, it’s a fertile time to plant the seeds of inspired ideas, spiritual growth and soulful connections that will ripple through your personal and professional life.

For the 48 hours following the peak of this new moon, tap into your imagination and allow yourself to dream big—really big. Pisces teaches us to trust what we can’t see, so free yourself to envision innovative projects or creative directions without worrying about how you’re going to make it happen—those details will magically work themselves out when the time is right. Meditation, journaling or simply daydreaming about what you want your life to look like can provide a lot of clarity.

If you’re a business owner, this could be a potent time for seeding or planning offers that cater to emotional and spiritual-well being or that foster a sense of connection and compassion. Be empathetic and dare I say soft in your approach with clients and collaborators, and trust that your shared dreams will be what forges meaningful and lasting relationships. This is also a good time to revisit your mission and values and make sure that you’re still aligned with them. Ultimately, even though this is a new moon, it’s time to let go—to flow with the currents of inspiration and trust that your intuition will guide your next steps.

Retrograde Updates

Retrogrades are when a planet appears to be moving backwards in the sky and are a time to slow down, reflect and reassess. The planet and sign involved in the retrograde will give you clues about what you’re being asked to revisit.

Jupiter Stations Direct February 4th

Jupiter, the planet of joy, abundance and expansion, shifts direct after four months of retrograde. During its retrograde (which happens every year), we were encouraged to reconnect with the things, people and opportunities that once brought us joy but may have been overlooked in the whirlwind of everyday life. It was a time to rediscover those hidden gems we forgot about—like putting on an old favorite jacket and finding money in the pocket. However, we were also asked to pause and question where our excitement and enthusiasm truly lie, which made it harder to clearly see the next steps for any new ventures.

Now that Jupiter is moving forward once again, that sense of clarity and forward motion will start to return. Opportunities that once felt stalled or fuzzy will slowly but surely begin to take shape, and the abundance of possibilities will flow freely again. This is the time to act on the insights you gained during the retrograde—pursue the ideas that sparked joy, follow the paths that felt expansive, and embrace growth that’s aligned with what you really value.

For business owners, it’s time to reignite old projects that will allow you to expand your reach. Trust that the seeds you’ve been nurturing will start to bloom into tangible rewards over the next few months as you take steps toward your dream.

Mars Stations Direct February 24th (shadow until May 4th)

WE MADE IT. After two and half months of slowdowns, delays and frustration and even anger stemming from a feeling of perpetual “stuck-ness”, the planet governing our action and drive is finally stationing direct. I know the last few months felt like wading through mud—whether you were working hard to push forward or chilling out until the energy cleared, you will have made about the same amount of progress… so I hope you took some time to relax. Mars retrograde gifted us this slow period so that we could reassess our goals, understand what truly motivates us and recognize without a doubt where we have been taking action out of alignment. Whatever projects withstood the test of this retrograde are the priorities that you can move forward with now that everything that was wasting your time or distracting you has fallen away.

As Mars stations direct, momentum begins to build, but remember we won’t be fully back up to speed until May. So use this time to reignite your spark, tackle any lingering tasks and start taking conscious action towards the things that really matter to you.

In business, this is the time to move forward on projects that align with your long-term vision. However beware of being impulsive… slow and steady will always win the race. Make sure every action is focused and intentional. If you put the peddle to the metal now, you’re likely to spin out of control. Take the time to get up to speed, upshifting when it feels right. You’re not in a race—trust that everything is coming together in divine timing.

Ingresses

Ingresses are when a planet moves into a new zodiac sign. Every time a planet changes signs, there is a change in theme. Paying attention to these ingresses can help you anticipate shifts in collective energy and align your plans with these cycles.

February 4th: Venus Enters Aries

When the planet of love, values and attraction moves into the fiery sign of the warrior, we’ll be ignited with the passion and courage to go after what we want—whether it’s a professional goal, a new connection, or creative project. Contrary to how we felt while Venus was in Pisces, Venus in Aries doesn’t wait for an invitation—prepare to lead with confidence and get intoxicated by the thrill of the pursuit.

If you are a business owner, this can spark an enthusiastic and proactive approach to networking, sales or launching new projects. You’ll feel an urge to take bold action—but beware that while Mars is still in retrograde—your momentum won’t pick up quite like you hope. Be especially mindful of balancing your excitement with a clear strategy and avoid making hasty, irrevocable decisions. The energy will be better spent reigniting passion projects that you’ve left on the back burner or tackling tasks you’ve been putting off.

February 14th: Mercury Enters Pisces

As Mercury moves into the dreamy waters of Pisces, communication will take on a softer and more intuitive tone. Mercury in Pisces isn’t concerned with rigid logic or linear thinking—it wants to tell stories, imagine possibilities and connect with others through shared dreams.
